Versteel: Versatility, Integrity, Quality and Design
Growing up with a background in steel manufacturing and in the legendary furniture town of Jasper, Indiana, Scott Schwinghammer saw an opportunity to create quality, well-designed furniture for commercial settings. Using American-made steel and always with versatility in mind, he created Versteel in 1985. Through some key manufacturing patents and the addition of seating in the 1990s, Versteel continued to take hold in the contract furniture space with durable, timeless products. The company evolves to this day, by collaborating with external designers to create iconic pieces that will stand the test of time. Versteel manages to maintain its roots in steel manufacturing by using only locally sourced materials, and by owning the manufacturing process, allowing them the ability to customize steel parts to meet the needs of their customers.
